Our commitment to wellbeing reaches far beyond the products we create. It extends into the neighborhoods we serve, the nonprofit organizations we support, and the people and pets who inspire our work every day. That spirit is at the heart of our Global Day of Service.
Each year, Wellies around the world step away from their day-to-day responsibilities to volunteer with local organizations. Those efforts strengthen communities, support animal welfare, protect natural spaces, and deepen connections among colleagues.
On May 19, 2026, employees across our global network took part in another powerful Global Day of Service—bringing time, energy, and care to their local communities.
Global Day of Service 2026: By the Numbers
- 261 Wellies volunteered
- 1,300+ volunteer hours donated
- 39 locations served across 4 continents
Every hour volunteered contributed to a larger effort to improve life for pets and the people who care for them, and to support resilient, healthy communities.
Stories Behind the Numbers
Statistics tell part of the story, but the real impact is found in the moments of connection and care. Across continents and cultures, volunteers helped animals, supported food security, protected natural habitats, and assisted vulnerable neighbors.
From walking shelter dogs in Minnesota to assisting farm animals in Belgium, packing food for families in Australia, and welcoming rescue kittens into loving homes, each volunteer action embodied our belief that wellbeing is created together.

Supporting Communities Around the World
This year’s volunteer initiatives reflected the broad ways wellbeing appears in local communities—through animal care, environmental stewardship, food assistance, and neighbor-to-neighbor support.
Europe: Caring for Animals and Communities
In Belgium, Wellies partnered with organizations that combine animal welfare with environmental stewardship. Teams supported Verts de Terre by improving life for senior and disabled farm animals—building fencing, digging trenches, and creating enrichment spaces that promote physical and mental wellbeing for livestock.
In Antwerp, volunteers took part in a river cleanup organized by Stormkop, a group that engages young people with programs blending art, science, sustainability, and outdoor exploration. In Veendam, teams contributed to a range of community projects, including caring for a local petting zoo and park, planting a bee-friendly garden, supporting animal organizations, preserving a historic church, and assisting elderly and disabled residents.
Asia-Pacific: Regional Impact Through Service
Across the Asia-Pacific region, volunteers supported animal welfare, conservation, and food assistance initiatives. Activities included animal care with local SPCA branches, coastal preservation work along Taiwan’s Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area, and community cleanups in Japan.
Volunteers also sorted donated goods with CARE International Japan and partnered with Foodbank NSW & ACT in Australia to organize and pack food supplies, helping ensure families have access to nutritious meals.
Massachusetts: Supporting Animals, Veterans, and Food Security
In Burlington, Massachusetts, teams worked with a diverse set of organizations focused on animal care, sustainable agriculture, veteran services, and food security. Volunteers assisted the Animal Rescue League, supported facility operations at Operation Delta Dog, and helped care for horses at NEER North.
Other Wellies contributed to community gardening, meal service programs, and regenerative farming efforts at Appleton Farms—projects that strengthen local food systems and improve access to healthy food.
Minnesota: Building on Strong Partnerships
In South Saint Paul, our teams continued long-standing partnerships while welcoming a new organization this year. For the fourth year running, volunteers assisted Eastside Meals on Wheels with meal deliveries, providing critical support for older adults across the East Metro area.
Volunteers also joined Avivo for neighborhood improvement projects and worked with Pet Haven to sort supplies, create enrichment toys, and prepare for upcoming rescue events. New this year, teams supported the Animal Humane Society by walking dogs awaiting adoption and assisting with shelter operations, offering comfort and care to animals in transition.
Arkansas: Helping Shelter Pets Find New Beginnings
In Decatur, Arkansas, volunteers spent the day supporting the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. The shelter provides shelter, medical care, and second chances for lost and homeless animals. By helping with daily operations and animal care, our team supported the shelter’s mission of finding loving homes for pets.
More Than a Day: Ongoing Impact
Global Day of Service is a single day on the calendar, but its effects continue throughout the year. Service deepens community ties, supports nonprofit capacity, and inspires ongoing volunteerism among colleagues and neighbors. These efforts help protect natural environments, improve food access, and ensure animals receive the care they need.
Most importantly, the event brings Wellies together around a common purpose: to translate our values into meaningful action. To every employee who volunteered their time, energy, and compassion this year—thank you.
Together we contributed more than 1,300 hours of service, strengthened communities across four continents, and made a measurable difference for people and pets. One team. One mission. One day dedicated to making a difference.
